I Wish I Can Turn Back Time

How cool is that, right? Being able to go back in time and undo or redo something in your life. But we all know that’s not how it works. Just a wishful thinking.

Today, I’ll be talking about my biggest regret. So you know this is going to be a bit personal. Hold tight.

We all have regrets in life, right? You have to be really perfect to not have one.

Anyway, one of my biggest regret is not finishing my studies and dropped my chance to get a degree. Time has passed and I’ve learned to accept that it was just meant to be.

I was an IT student. I cringe whenever I talk about it because over all, I only went to college for two months… yes, not even a whole semester. It was fun while it lasted. I made friends that I’m still friends with today.

The reason why I dropped out of college was because I can’t keep up with the time it requires from me. You see, I was also working at the same time to support my family’s needs. It was hard for me. There was just too much pressure. As the eldest child, it was expected of me to carry the whole family.

It was expensive too. While I was in college, I was not able to support my younger siblings because I had to attend to my own schooling fees. My Dad that time was only making enough to bring food to our table and I have to shoulder the rest of the expenses at home.

I dropped out of college to give way to my younger siblings. I had to give up my own education to be able to support my younger siblings’ education.

I am not regretting that I chose to support them. I regret that I was not strong enough to fight for my own education. See the difference.

I enjoy school. I enjoy learning. I miss school.

It’s not too late. I know I can go back to school if I really want to, in the future. Right now, I am still supporting my family.

What’s your biggest regret in life?

  1. Thank you for your vulnerability. I like to think that even the “regrets” I have are a part of my journey and have grown me into who I am today. Your challenge with school, and decision to not continue, can be a story that you share with someone and makes a difference in their life.

  2. One thing that can never change is TIME. It keeps moving ahead with its own pace. As human beings, we often wish for TIME to turn back so that we can edit our past mistakes, but that never happened nor it ever will.

So, an eye-opener thought for everyone is to LIVE to the FULLEST as one never knows when would things take a U-curve.

  3. I wish I can turn back time too, but not to change anything. I would go back to live again every special moment with my loved ones. I have a lot of things that I regret, but I wouldn’t change anything. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and changing my past would change who I am now. I love this posts that makes you think and wonder! Keep it up!

  4. I know is sad but it’s alright. Don’t worry my big sis because God has better plans for you. I know you know that it’s all part of making you strong, I know you can do anything with that strong mind you have! It’s not too late to pursue your dreams. We don’t need a degree in order to succeed, we just need to be strong enough to overcome the hindrances of life.
Help me pursue my dreams as you always do because i’m choosing the path you started let me/us finish it. Cheer up!
