I Took a Leap of Faith and Crossed The Line

I can’t believe it’s been a month since I started my new career as a Financial Advisor. Yes, a Financial Advisor! I have to pinch myself sometimes because I still can’t believe it myself. Only a month has passed but I can’t believe the things I have achieved (so far) in this new journey.

August 28, 2020 – I received a call from my manager telling me that I just got coded (temporary code), which means I am now allowed to represent the company. I was happy, but at the same time worried, because I still don’t know a thing. I didn’t had enough training. I basically had no idea what to do next after receiving the news.

Maria Teresa Guanlao is the one who invited me to joined the team and she’s the first one to believe in me.

Later that day, I was welcomed by the whole team. It still feels surreal for me. I was still scared… so many what ifs in my head. But I reminded myself that my WHY is so big, and that I can do it scared. (Please read my previous post: Ready To Cross The Line)

After that, I’ve been so busy with virtual trainings and I’m still not done, actually. It was exhausting even though it was all done online, but at the end of the day, I am actually happy. I am learning a lot.

One thing I realized ever since I embarked on this new journey, is that you become the people you surround yourself. I mean, if you know me before this happened, I am always the gloomy kid. I was always depressed. But when I joined the TGA Family, it’s like my life turned around, for the better. No joke!

Everyone in the family is just so full of positivity and everyone’s very supportive. Our dear Senior Unit Head is so amazing… she supports us every step of the way, she motivates us, and she believes in us. I ask her questions on a daily basis, and she’s still all smiles.

A simple “you can do it, bunso” really goes a long way, especially for someone like me who constantly doubts myself. It feels good to have some people who actually believes in you and what you can do.

I felt myself changed. My mindset changed. I don’t feel down or depressed as much as I used to. For a change, I look forward to the next day now and everyday I want to help more people, touch their lives, and be able to serve them with a purpose.

At first, I was like “what did I get myself into?”. We all know that this industry is very challenging, but our manager keeps reminding me to use my heart no matter what. Whatever I get at the end of the day is just a bonus, the main focus here is to touch more lives and encourage more people to protect their life, their future, and their family’s future.

I can’t believe it’s been a month since I started on this journey. A month of learning, a month of facing my fears and challenges, a month of getting to know my new family; The Grateful Advisors.

I am proud to say that I helped six people secure their lives and it feels so great! That genuine thank you they tell me really hits differently. It humbles me and motivates me to do more.

Thank You, Lord! I wouldn’t have done all of this without You and Your guidance.

  1. I always knew you had potential – regardless of what field you go into. And this new career just proves my point even more. When you make it big in this industry later on, don’t forget me. You still owe me a car πŸ˜„

  2. I never doubted your capabilities bunso and I believe you can excel in everything you embark because you are a very dedicated person and you always do everything with prayers πŸ™‚
