I’ve been feeling down a lot lately due to the pandemic we are all experiencing right now. Work’s been unstable, can’t go anywhere, the stress and anxiety has been overwhelming me… I can go on and on about the negative things, but I know it won’t help. It will just make things worse for my mental health and everyone around me, like a domino effect.
So, I decided to set goals for me that I can possibly achieve by the end of the year. For me, setting attainable goals is an effective way to increase motivation and help me steer away from depression.
1.) Pay all remaining debts. I started paying all my debts since last year, but I put it on hold since the lockdown started because work’s been unstable and I wasn’t sure if I’ll get paid by the projects I did prior to this crisis. I just wanted to make sure I have extra cash to pull out whenever needed. I’m starting to work on some projects now, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to pay my family’s remaining debts within the year.
2.) Start an additional source of income. In order for me to pay all our remaining debts, feed my family, and pay bills, I have to work extra harder and also start figuring out a different source of income. I have a few ideas, but nothing certain yet. We’ll get there, eventually. One step at a time. 😉
3.) Learn a new skill. I may need to learn a new skill or two in order to generate a different source of income.

4.) A fully-funded emergency fund. It has been my goal ever since to at least save six months worth of expenses to my emergency fund. We’re getting there, slowly but surely.
5.) Prepare my Dad’s retirement. As I mentioned in my previous post, my Dad wasn’t able to fully prepare for his retirement. As the eldest daughter, I want to help prepare for that while we still have time to prepare.
6.) Get teeth fixed. I have some issues with my teeth and it’s been affecting my confidence as a tour guide.
7.) Achieve my ideal weight. I started my weight loss journey February this year, and my weight keeps fluctuating. So far, I lost just 6 kilograms. The lack of outside activities probably didn’t help, but now, I am motivated again to continue my weight loss journey. I’m 9 kilograms away to my ideal weight (based on my BMI). I can do it!
8.) Publish 3-5 (or more) blog posts a month. I just want to make writing a habit again. It’s therapeutic.
9.) Improve photography skills. I know the basics and I’m not exactly the best at it, so I want to improve it and hopefully make a side hustle out of it. Who knows! 🙂
10.) Sleep earlier. I usually sleep around 3:00 to 4:00 AM lately. I want to sleep earlier like all normal people do. I’m tired of waking up late and feeling really tired already.
I feel a lot better now that I have set goals for myself. I can’t wait to achieve them one by one.
